Ketu south: Madam Abla Dzifa Gomashie, Member of Parliament for Ketu South, along with Technology and United Development for Economic Creation (TUDEC), an NGO, have commissioned two mechanised boreholes for the Anoenu and Agblekpui communities. The facilities, strategically located at the school park in Anoenu and the Torgbui Fiti Palace Junction in Agblekpui, are aimed at alleviating the water crisis in these areas.
According to Ghana News Agency, the commissioning ceremony took place at Anoenu, where Madam Gomashie expressed her gratitude to TUDEC for fulfilling her request to provide water to the communities in her constituency. She emphasized the critical role that access to clean water plays in the health and well-being of communities. The mechanised boreholes are anticipated to significantly improve water access for the residents of Anoenu and Agblekpui.
Mr. Cefar Tepeli, President of TUDEC, highlighted the importance of the new water facilities and encouraged the beneficiaries to use them effectively. He pointed out that providing clean water is a significant aspect of TUDEC’s mission, which includes attracting international investments into Ghana’s economy. TUDEC, based in Accra, has successfully garnered nearly $600 million in investments from international businesses.
Torgbui Ansah III, the Chief of Anoenu, expressed his gratitude towards the MP and TUDEC for their contribution. He also called for further assistance, specifically in securing the community school through fencing to ensure the safety of pupils and teachers.
Additionally, as part of the ceremony, the MP donated 25 bags of 50kg rice and bottled water to the communities. Residents interviewed by the Ghana News Agency expressed their joy over the project and praised the collaboration between the MP, TUDEC, and local stakeholders. They also appealed for further assistance from philanthropists and organizations to address other challenges such as poor roads and the lack of social amenities.
