Adaklu: Consolidated Bank Ghana (CBG) has extended its flagship educational support programme, ‘Formative Learning with CBG,’ to the Adaklu Vodze Basic School in the Adaklu District of the Volta Region, with a donation of over 700 reading books. The gesture, carried out on Tuesday, July 8, 2025, reflects the bank’s firm commitment to promoting literacy and quality education across underserved communities in Ghana.

According to Ghana News Agency, the presentation was led by the Managing Director of CBG, Dr. Naomi Wolali Kwetey, who emphasized the transformational power of reading in shaping future generations. Dr. Kwetey highlighted that literacy is the foundation upon which dreams are built and noted that the donated books are Ghanaian-authored and published, showcasing the rich cultural heritage and inspiring stories of the nation. She encouraged the pupils to embrace the books with enthusiasm and expressed pride in partnering with teachers and school leaders to shape future minds.

Mr. Edward Dzidza, Headteacher of the school, expressed profound gratitude to CBG for the donation, acknowledging the acute lack of reading materials prior to this intervention. He noted that the support empowers the children to read, comprehend, and apply knowledge to transform their lives. He also appealed for further support in infrastructure development, which he described as a pressing need.

Madam Sheila Azuntaba, the Deputy Managing Director of CBG, reaffirmed the bank’s commitment to education and engaged the pupils in a lively reading session. The initiative was warmly welcomed by the pupils, teachers, and School Management Committee Chairman, who described it as a ‘lifeline’ to transform education in the area. The ‘Formative Learning with CBG’ initiative continues to promote literacy across Ghana, reaffirming CBG’s mission to stand with communities and invest in their future through impactful educational partnerships.
