Sunyani: Master Michael Nabi, a candidate for this year's Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) in the Sunyani Municipality, has urged President John Dramani Mahama to implement a 24-hour economy. In an interview with the Ghana News Agency (GNA) at New-Dormaa, Master Nabi emphasized that many residents in Sunyani are hopeful that such an economy would provide them with opportunities to engage in gainful activities while they await their exam results.According to Ghana News Agency, Master Nabi, a student at the New-Dormaa Seventh Day Adventist (SDA) Basic School, expressed his desire to engage in productive activities post-examination as a means to prepare himself for Senior High School (SHS). He shared his confidence in his preparation for the BECE, expressing his determination to pass and take advantage of the Free SHS programme. Master Nabi also mentioned his motivation to work stems from witnessing the economic hardships faced by his family, and he wishes to contribute to alleviating their finan cial burdens.In another interview, Madam Adam Abiba, a firewood seller at New-Dormaa, echoed the need for governmental intervention to address the high cost of living. She highlighted the challenges posed by expensive basic food items, which have impacted her firewood business. Madam Abiba, aged 75, expressed her willingness to explore other business avenues if available, and she called on the President to establish the Women Development Bank. She reminded the President of his promises made during the 2024 electioneering campaign to improve the living conditions of Ghanaians.
