Afienya-mataheko: The Assemblies of God Church, Rhema Basilica at Afienya-Mataheko, has launched its 15th anniversary celebration, with a call on Christians to rely on the power of prayer.

According to Ghana News Agency, the Reverend Daniel Ackam, the District Pastor for Afienya, stated that the fuel of the church is the Holy Spirit and God’s power, which could only be purchased with the currency called prayer.

The theme for the launch was: ‘The Line Has Fallen to Me in Pleasant Places.’

Rev Ackam indicated that for the church to grow and Christians to get fulfilment, they must rely on prayers alone, which could move the anointing of God to fall upon them.

He said 15 years ago the church commenced worship with five adults and three children, indicating that with prayers and a lot of faith the church had increased, a testament that prayer works.

Mr Courage K.M. Nunekpeku, the Managing Director of TDC Ghana Limited, joining in the launch, encouraged Christians to be consistent and persistent in their prayers as God answers prayers.

Mr Nunekpeku shared his life story to encourage church members to make prayers a lifestyle, stating that as a young boy who lost his father at the age of 14 years, he held on to God strongly, and he survived the tides.

As part of the celebration, the church would embark on a float, an open-air crusade, and house-to-house evangelism to reach out to souls.
