Winners were presented with plaques and medals embossed with their specific achievements.
The VCSEA 2025 was held under the theme ‘Empowering Tomorrow’s Leaders: Celebrating Students’ Excellence, Leadership and Service’. Professor Mrs. Rita Akosua Dickson, Vice-Chancellor of the university, who made the call, said it was important to recognize students whose achievements had set them apart, to help motivate others to perform better.
She emphasized that the future of the world would be shaped by ‘leaders we nurture today,’ adding that, as a university, the aim was to empower students to be architects of change, lead with integrity, innovate with purpose, and serve with compassion to make meaningful discourse. Acknowledging the usefulness of students, the VC noted that students were the backbone of the university.
Prof. Dickson advised students to keep adding value to themselves by leveraging the available resources to impact the world. It was students’ duty to ask challenging questions, which addressed real societal issues, she stated.
