Former MP Encourages Muslim Women to Foster Peace During Eid-ul Adha

Duayaw-Nkwanta: Dr Freda Prempeh, the former Member of Parliament (MP) for Tano North in the Ahafo Region, recently called upon Muslim women to focus on fostering peace, cohesion, and joy within their families and homes during the Eid-ul Adha festive season.

According to Ghana News Agency, Dr Prempeh extended her wishes for a peaceful and prosperous celebration to Muslims, particularly urging women to show compassion towards their families. She emphasized the importance of caring for and sharing with vulnerable girls within Muslim communities, as well as those living on the streets and in orphanages, in alignment with Islamic teachings.

Dr Prempeh, who is also the Founder of the Ultimate Women Foundation (UWF), a Non-governmental Organisation, shared her insights during an interview at Duayaw-Nkwanta. She highlighted the mission of UWF, which aims to inspire and empower indigenous and vulnerable women and girls, enabling them to recognize their value and contribute meaningfully to community and societal development.

The former MP advised women to "endeavour to celebrate in peace, love, and joy," and cautioned against behaviors that could disrupt the harmony within homes. Dr Freda underscored that maintaining peace and happiness at home is crucial for addressing the challenges faced by Muslim women and girls, ultimately leading to the creation of more cohesive Muslim communities nationwide.
