Ketasco Fashion Student Receives Applauds for Skillful and Colourful Design

Keta: Ms Celina Sa-Wemegah Sefenya, a 19-year-old fashion student from Keta Senior High Technical School (Ketasco) in the Volta Region, has gained attention for her West Africa Secondary School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) practical project.



According to Ghana News Agency, her project demonstrated creativity and skills through a runway performance, showcasing a transformation of a simple dress into a ball gown with a hoop design. Madam Jennifer Elikem Dogbey, the Clothing and Textile Teacher at Ketasco, noted the excitement about the students’ readiness to learn new things. She mentioned that the 49 students in the Clothing and Textile class have performed well.



Madam Dogbey highlighted that students completed a mandatory off-campus attachment with fashion designers, enhancing their practical skills. Celina’s garment was part of her final project and received attention for her skills.



Ms Sefenya is a day student from Keta with a keen interest in fashion and design. Ketasco emphasizes technical education, offering hands-on skills in fields like visual arts and fashion. The school, with over 2,800 students and 209 staff, offers various programmes including General Science and Home Economics.



Ketasco has excelled in competitions like the National Science and Maths Quiz and the Sprite Ball basketball competition. Celina’s achievement underscores the school’s commitment to fostering creativity and technical training, evident in her project.
