Sekondi-Takoradi: Mr Frederick Faustinaus Faidoo, the Sekondi-Takoradi Metropolitan Chief Executive (MCE), has toured several Basic Education Certificate Examinations (BECE) centres within the Metropolis to motivate candidates to perform well in their examinations. He was joined by officials from the Metro Education Directorate and staff from the Sekondi-Takoradi Metropolitan Assembly (STMA).

According to Ghana News Agency, Mr Faidoo addressed the students, emphasizing that the examination is an opportunity for them to demonstrate their knowledge acquired during their basic education. He urged the students to answer the questions confidently and reminded them that they have the support of the community.

Mr Faidoo stated, “We are here to give you moral support and motivate you to write your exams and perform excellently to make us proud. Go with open mindedness, and do not be afraid and by the grace of God, you shall come out with flying colours.” He also emphasized the importance of following the examination rules and adhering to both written and oral instructions to avoid disqualification.

Mr Edmund Aggrey-Forson, the Sekondi-Takoradi Metropolitan Director of Education, echoed these sentiments, advising the candidates to avoid any form of examination malpractice. He encouraged them to remain focused, as their success could help position Sekondi-Takoradi among the top-performing districts.

This year, a total of 5,568 students, comprising 2,795 males and 2,773 females from 138 schools, are taking the BECE at 18 centres within the Sekondi-Takoradi Metropolis.
