Atebubu: Mr. Godfrey Djie, Headmaster of the Amantin Senior High School (SHS) in the Atebubu-Amantin Municipality of the Bono East Region, has appealed to government and stakeholders to support the physical infrastructure development of the school.

According to Ghana News Agency, the school is currently facing a shortage of essential facilities, including a dining hall, administration block, assembly hall, and science laboratory. Mr. Djie emphasized that the lack of adequate classrooms and furniture has severely limited the school’s capacity to admit more students.

During the school’s 30th anniversary celebration themed ‘Quality Education and Discipline: Tools for Self-Empowerment and National Development’, Mr. Djie further detailed the urgent need for spacious dormitories, beds, a standard library, a kitchen, and new vehicles to replace the aging school bus and pickup. He noted that the school also suffers from perennial water shortages, insufficient staff bungalows, and inadequate toilet facilities, which continue to pose significant challenges.

The Headmaster announced plans to construct a two-storey classroom block and called on the public to support the government in addressing these critical needs. He expressed his gratitude to God, the school staff, parents, and stakeholders for their unwavering support in the institution’s growth over the past 30 years.

Mr. Francis Owusu Antwi, Bono East Regional Minister, committed to forwarding the school’s concerns to the appropriate authorities for resolution.
