Accra: MTN Ghana has made a donation to the Mepe Traditional Area in support of the Mepe Afenorto Festival. The donation, which included a cheque for GH20,000 and some assorted drinks, was led by Mr. Mawuli Katehena, the Sales and Distribution Team Lead for Volta and Oti Regions. He commended the Traditional Area for their warm reception throughout their five-year journey and expressed the hope that this relationship would continue between the company and the area.
According to Ghana News Agency, Torgbe Kwesi Nego VI, Manklalo of the Mepe Traditional Area, received the items on behalf of the Traditional Council and expressed deep appreciation to MTN for its consistent support over the years. He noted that the donation was critical for the community, especially now as they worked towards rebuilding their lives and infrastructure following the devastating Akosombo Dam spillage disaster.
In addition to the donation, the MTN team took the opportunity to engage the community by raising awareness about Mobile Money (MoMo) fraud and educating residents on MTN’s various products and services.
