Ghana’s Resetting Agenda Needs Holistic Approach, Says Prince Mba

General

Accra: The government’s plan to reset Ghana requires a comprehensive approach that benefits all citizens, suggested Mr. Prince Bugnaba Mba, President of the Forum for Equity. The resetting agenda, according to Mr. Mba, should not be limited to addressing political adversaries but should extend to both the private and public sectors, where complex legal issues often lead to significant financial injustices.

According to Ghana News Agency, Mr. Mba emphasized the need for substantial change, stating that no citizen should face competition with animals for access to clean drinking water. He highlighted the growing gap between the employed and unemployed, noting an increase in graduates seeking assistance due to widespread distress. Mr. Mba pointed to the visible movement of equipment for industrial development in neighboring Burkina Faso, suggesting that Ghana requires a similar or accelerated approach to development.

He remarked on Ghana’s advantageous climatic conditions and abundant mineral resources compared to neighboring countries, expressing confusion over the country’s developmental indicators in light of ongoing exploitation by foreign mining companies and a few political allies. Mr. Mba asserted that the government must embrace constructive criticism and understand that the essence of power is to ensure a dignified life through meaningful employment opportunities.

Mr. Mba concluded by stating that Ghana possesses sufficient resources for the common good, urging for a pragmatic, purposeful, and visionary approach to national development.
