Accra: Dr George Agyekum Donkor, President/Chairman of the Board of Directors, ECOWAS Bank for Investment and Development, has called on graduates of the Nobel International Business University, Ghana (NiBS University) to spearhead innovations that address Africa's pressing challenges. He emphasized that Africa's ascent will be driven by impact-focused leaders, epitomized by the new graduates.According to Ghana News Agency, Dr Donkor, who also serves as the Chancellor of NiBS University, provided this counsel during the 2025 Congregation ceremony held in Accra. During the event, 30 Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) and 25 Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) students graduated. Dr Donkor highlighted the university's commitment to fostering an educational environment where critical thinking, adaptability, and creativity are not only encouraged but are also expected.He further noted that NiBS University extends learning beyond the classroom by actively establishing global academic and professional partnerships, thereby offering students access to internationally accredited programs. The institution remains deeply committed to the African Development Agenda, focusing on developing home-grown solutions to continental challenges.Dr Donkor remarked that the university's diverse student body, representing various African countries, embodies a mission that transcends education. He emphasized the importance of cultivating a mindset that views Africa not only as a land of potential but as a continent on the cusp of transformation.Congratulating the graduating class of 2025, Dr Donkor acknowledged their perseverance through intellectual rigor, challenging projects, and a rapidly changing global landscape. He reminded them that NiBS University has prepared them not just for Africa, but for a greater purpose.He stressed that the NiBS PhD program is designed to enhance graduates' analytical skills for shaping policies, positioning them as custodians of values such as integrity, leadership, and excellence in service. As th ey step into a world characterized by volatility and technological shifts, these graduates are equipped to seize opportunities by thinking broadly and leading responsibly.Dr Donkor urged the graduates to utilize their research training to reform institutions and business policies, fostering businesses that generate employment and protect the vulnerable. He encouraged them to commit to lifelong learning to contribute to societal building."We are rewriting the narrative of higher education in Africa," he said, affirming NiBS University's dedication to offering flexible, future-oriented, and globally relevant programs. He added that through executive education, research, and enterprise development, the university aims to cultivate a new generation of solution-oriented and socially responsible professionals and entrepreneurs.He concluded by charging the graduates to lead with insight, discipline, and vision.Professor Kwaku Atuahene-Gima, Founder/President of NiBS University, emphasized the need for Africa n executives with advanced cognitive leadership skills to innovate and develop practices suited to the African context.Dr David Ofosu Dorte, Founder and Senior Partner of AB and David Africa, who delivered the keynote address, noted that today's societal challenges often stem from past solutions. He advised the graduates to ensure their problem-solving approaches are future-fit, emphasizing the need for immediate action in addressing issues.
