Clement Wilkinson, the Municipal Chief Executive, Ga West Municipal Assembly, has stated that the proposed reset of the Ghanaian economy by former President John Dramani Mahama is not feasible. He said we cannot reset the economy when the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) is performing so well even in the face of the challenges. The MCE recounted how former President John Mahama in 2016 campaigned with his 'no abaabase' tag, which literally meant we ought to move forward and not backwards.Mr. Wilkinson posited that using that same analogy used by Mr. Mahama, it is prudent to state categorically that the upgrade was far superior to resetting the economy. He opined that Amasaman is no longer a favourable constituency for the National Democratic Congress (NDC).The NPP, he said, has managed to convince the constituents to believe in the party due to its unprecedented levels of development. He expressed strong optimism that the parliamentary candidate of the NPP in the constituency, Mr. Yahya Kassim Atta, is an upgrade of the incumbent MP, Mr. Afrifa-Mensa.He said in the past, the NPP struggled in the constituency, but as we speak, the people have appreciated what we have done for them. They trust in the NPP at the moment. There are those who also do not want to appreciate what we do, but we have invested in several projects, including roads in the constituency."We do not need a reset. We want an upgrade. As we speak, the upgrade is the best option. President Akufo-Addo has achieved a lot for the country and the constituency, and so we need to upgrade, and Vice President John Dramani Mahama is the best man for the job," he said on Frontline on Rainbow Radio 87.5FM.Source: Ghana Web
