Gabés: Some 16,146 tourists visited Gabés in the period running from January 1 to June 20, Tourism Commissioner Béchir Kdiri told TAP.The number of bednights trended upwards (+19.3%) compared to the same period last year. The hotel occupancy rate followed suit (+2%).Business tourism, Kdiri said, accounts for 80% of tourist activity in the region. The tourist season in Gabès, in general, and Matmata, in particular, covers the period from March to September.
