Amenfi West: The National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE), together with the Inter-Party Dialogue Committee (IPDC) in the Amenfi West District of the Western Region, has engaged with faith-based organisations to promote peace in the lead-up to the December 7 elections. The session focused on fostering peaceful campaigns, political and religious tolerance, and addressing issues such as money in politics, misinformation, and tribalism.According to Ghana News Agency, the meeting was conducted under the theme "Together we can build so get involved." Mr Anthony Kelvin Amoo, the Wassa Amenfi Central District Director of NCCE, emphasized the importance of peace and stability for the country's progress, urging everyone to contribute to a peaceful 2024 election. Faith-based groups were identified as crucial in maintaining peace and harmony, prompting the engagement to ensure a violence-free election period.Mr Frank Agyapong, Chief Field Officer of the Amenfi West NCCE Office, called on faith-based organisati ons to coexist peacefully and lead peace campaigns in their communities. He highlighted the necessity of peace and stability for national development and encouraged efforts to prevent violence surrounding the elections.As part of their peace initiative, the Amenfi West NCCE, in collaboration with security service personnel, organized a peace walk to reinforce the peace message within the district.
