Dambai: The Dambai Health Centre in Krachi East Municipality welcomed its first newborn of the year on Wednesday at 2:00 a.m. as a baby girl was delivered, marking a significant event for both the family and the health facility. The birth, occurring just hours into the New Year, was celebrated as a joyous occasion by staff and family members present.

According to Ghana News Agency, Ms. Mary Owusu, a midwife at the Dambai Health Centre, expressed that the birth of the baby girl was a special moment. "It was a moment of joy and celebration for us all," she commented, acknowledging the symbolic start to the year 2025 brought by the newborn's arrival.

Madam Kande Nyande, the grandmother of the baby, shared her excitement and emotions upon meeting her granddaughter for the first time. Present to support her daughter during the labor, Madam Kande emphasized the symbolic nature of the birth coinciding with the New Year, noting it as a reminder of hope and new beginnings.
