Dawn Dickson, an American entrepreneur and a trailblazer in female leadership, has shared her wealth of experience in Ghana, discussed her global business ventures, and candidly addressed the challenges she has faced, including sexual harassment.Appearing as a guest on the Konnected Minds podcast, Dickson revealed that she encountered what would be considered sexual harassment in Ghana."Yes, I did experience what would be called sexual harassment in America, at work," she admitted.Dickson highlighted the absence of legal protections for women against such harassment in Ghana, emphasizing how this reality provided her with a deeper understanding of the challenges that women in the corporate sector must navigate. "There are no laws around that, there's nothing you can do, so it did help me get an inside look at what women in Ghana in the corporate force have to deal with-it's a lot," she added. When asked how she manages sexual harassment, particularly given her high-profile contacts that include CEOs, entertainers, sports figures, and men from diverse backgrounds, Dickson shared her unique approach. "My looks help me get endorsed, and it's up to me to change that and spin it around to have them see what's up here," she explained, referring to her intelligence and skills. "It's a skill because you have to do it without bruising the ego, without offending, without rejecting, or without accepting, but I feel like I have this skill." She narrated.Dickson also touched on her ability to set boundaries with the opposite gender, noting that her experience in handling unwanted attention dates back to her childhood."I can manage-I hate to say it like that, but I've had it my whole life since a kid, so you learn how to manage. Nobody is touching me physically; so long as you don't put your hands on me, we're fine." She mentioned.Beyond her personal experiences, Dawn Dickson is a multimillionaire with business interests spanning across Africa, including Ghana and Rwanda.Source: Ghana Web
