Zamora: Diogo Jota is believed to have been driving when he and his brother Andre Silva died in a car crash last week, Spanish police have disclosed. The Liverpool footballer and father-of-three was killed alongside his brother after their Lamborghini erupted into flames following a suspected tyre blowout last Thursday in Zamora, Spain.According to Ghana News Agency, a spokesperson for the Guardia Civil of Zamora informed the PA news agency that tests conducted by its traffic division indicated Jota was driving the vehicle at the time of the accident. The spokesperson noted that the car was reportedly traveling above the speed limit of 120 kilometers per hour on the road.The spokesperson further detailed that an expert report is in progress, analyzing the marks left by one of the car's wheels. Preliminary findings suggest a significant speed excess over the legal limit, with all tests to date pointing to Diogo Jota as the driver.The report remains unfinished but is expected to be submitted to the cour t in Puebla de Sanabria, Zamora. Images from the scene showed debris scattered along the roadside, including charred remnants of the vehicle.The funeral for the brothers occurred in their native Portugal on Saturday, attended by footballers, family, and fans. Jota's long-term partner, Rute Cardoso, whom he had married just 11 days before the tragedy, was present, along with his parents.
