Indian High Commission and Citizen Diplomacy Group Commemorate International Day of Yoga in Tamale

Tamale: Citizen Diplomacy Group (Khuda Rakka), in collaboration with the Indian High Commission, celebrated this year's International Day of Yoga in Tamale with activities aimed at harmonizing body, mind, and soul through physical exercises.

According to Ghana News Agency, this year's International Day of Yoga will be observed on June 21 under the theme 'One Earth, One Health,' which underscores the link between individual well-being and environmental sustainability. Mr. Sunil Kumar, Second Secretary of the High Commission of India in Accra, highlighted the essence of Yoga during the celebration, emphasizing its role in uniting people worldwide in the spirit of peace, health, and unity.

Mr. Kumar remarked, "It is a reaffirmation of India's ancient wisdom and its growing relevance in our modern world." He further stressed that the gathering in Tamale served as a reminder of Yoga's universal message of balance, resilience, and inner strength-values that transcend borders, cultures, and backgrounds. He pointed out that the global practice of Yoga by millions demonstrates its power to heal and connect.

He encouraged everyone to explore the benefits of Yoga beyond the International Day of Yoga, urging them to incorporate Yoga into their daily lives. "Whether you're a beginner or a long-time practitioner, every breath, every pose is a step toward greater awareness and well-being," he stated.

Additionally, Gulkpe-Naa, the Paramount Chief of Gulkpegu Traditional Area in Tamale, represented by Abdulai Neindow Zakaria, Waluru of Gulkpe-Naa, praised the celebration and called upon the Indian High Commission to extend its support to include agricultural production in the northern part of the country.
