Accra Hearts of Oak will face Kpondo Hearts of Lion in the 2024 edition of the Gbese Mantse Homowo Charity Cup on Sunday, August 11, 2024, at the Accra Sports Stadium.The Charity Cup is part of the activities lined up to celebrate this year's Homowo festival to promote peace and unity in the upcoming Presidential and Parliamentary elections.Nii Armah Okpah II, the Chief Korle woko-Agbogbloshie who was the Special Guest at the launch advised the youth to desist from conflict during and after the 2024 general elections.He said, 'This particular game is to ensure Ga Mashie puts up a unifying front going into the festival and also the upcoming elections, and I urged the youth to stay away from troubles'.Nii Ayi Bonte the Gbese Mantse, also called for peace in the Ga state and Ghana as a whole.He said, 'It is important we always have to show the whole world that we the Ga Mashie people understand the importance of elections in the country, and we would not allow any form of violence in the community'.B oth the Parliamentary candidates of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and the National Democratic Congress (NDC) were present and signed for peace in the upcoming elections.Source: Ghana News Agency
