Lusaka: The GREEN Tech4CE Project, funded by the European Union’s Global Gateway, has formalized contracts with selected companies under Calls for proposals II, III, and IV. These agreements aim to fund business solutions leveraging innovation and new technologies to strengthen local value chains, enhance industrial competitiveness, and promote the sustainable use of natural resources.
According to European Union, ten enterprises have been awarded grants totaling EUR 3,447,645 to support circular business models in sectors such as mining services, green workshops, recycling systems, waste-to-energy initiatives, waste management, and e-mobility. These investments are designed to advance innovation in processing, technology adoption, and value addition, thereby contributing to more resilient and competitive value chains.
In addition to this, six Business Development Service Providers will receive EUR 843,428 to deliver incubation, acceleration, and technical assistance to 805 startups, micro, and small enterp
rises. This support will focus on strengthening enterprise management, improving environmental performance, and increasing investment readiness.
Furthermore, two Financial Service Providers will be contracted for EUR 400,000 to design tailored financial products, including green leasing, to expand access to capital for MSMEs and artisanal and small-scale mining operators engaged in sustainable business practices.
