Accra: The Ghana Academy of Arts and Sciences has inducted several new fellows, emphasizing the importance of their contribution to national discourse and the Academy's collective vision. The recent induction ceremony highlighted the roles these distinguished individuals are expected to play in fostering development and addressing national challenges.According to Ghana News Agency, the inductees represent various academic disciplines, including Professor of Poultry Science, Mr. Samuel Egyir Aggrey; Professor of Surgery, Dr. Joe-Nat Afutu Clegg-Lamptey; Professor of Population Studies, Dr. Samuel Nii Ardey Codjoe; and Professor of Chemistry, Dr. Godfred Darko. Additional members include Professor of Pharmacology, Dr. Emmanuel Bekoe Larbi; Professor of Animal Science, Mr. Frederick Yeboah Obese; and Professor of Food Science and Technology, Dr. Ibok Ekpenyong Nsa Oduro.Professor Kofi Opoku Nti, President of the Academy, urged the new fellows to contribute fresh ideas and actively participate in the Academy' s initiatives aimed at national growth. He called on them to dedicate time and adhere to the core values of the Academy, emphasizing the importance of service and leadership in achieving desired outcomes.Prof. Nti also advised the inductees to engage in national debates, remain committed to national issues, and collaborate with others to address challenges impacting the country's development. He highlighted the importance of responsible use of social media to prevent misinformation ahead of the general elections.Prof. Oduro, speaking on behalf of the inductees, expressed gratitude to the Academy's leadership for the honor and affirmed their commitment to the Academy's progress. He emphasized their readiness to volunteer and contribute to the success of the Academy's initiatives.
