Ga East Municipal NCCE Office Hosts Peace Forum to Combat Misinformation During Elections.

Accra: Mrs. Jemima Abena Konadu Mensah, the Ga East Municipal Director of the NCCE, has emphasized the importance of avoiding misinformation and disinformation during the electoral process. She highlighted that steering clear of such practices would help prevent vote buying and enable the electorate to hold public officers accountable at the end of their four-year term.According to Ghana News Agency, Mrs. Mensah made these remarks during a Peace Forum aimed at educating voters on the electoral process and encouraging their participation in electing new leaders for the country. The forum sought to bring Parliamentary Candidates from the Dome Kwabenya Constituency together, providing assurances of peace before and after the general election.Mrs. Mensah stressed the importance of voter turnout, warning that failing to vote for preferred candidates could result in the election of representatives who do not align with constituents' choices, potentially leading to dissatisfaction with the parliamentary outcome .During the forum, Parliamentary Candidates addressed the need for peaceful coexistence among their supporters and assured attendees that the election would be conducted peacefully. They urged voters to participate in the upcoming election on December 7, 2024, by casting their votes for the candidates they wish to represent them in Parliament.Political parties at the forum pledged their commitment to ensuring peaceful elections, urging voters to have confidence in the Electoral Commission and the Police Service throughout the electoral process.
