Former President Mahama Criticizes Unfinished Afari Military Hospital in Ashanti Region.

Abuakwa: Former President John Dramani Mahama has expressed concern over the unfinished state of the Afari Military Hospital in the Atwima Nwabiagya South Municipality, Ashanti region. Mahama described the situation as unfortunate and emphasized the importance of the hospital's completion for improving healthcare in the region.According to Ghana News Agency, Mahama revealed that during his presidency, his vision was to complete the Afari Military Hospital and initiate another healthcare facility in Tamale to serve the middle and northern parts of Ghana. However, he noted that a change in government halted these plans, and after eight years under the NPP administration, the hospital remains incomplete.Addressing a rally of party supporters in Abuakwa, Mahama lamented the delays in the project, highlighting the benefits of military health facilities in alleviating the burden on existing government health systems. He assured that the next NDC government would prioritize the completion of the hospital to ensu re quality healthcare services for the Ashanti region's residents.Mahama further emphasized that completing various stalled government projects across the country would be a key focus of his administration. He urged voters to support him and the NDC in the upcoming elections to bring about necessary changes.In addition to healthcare initiatives, Mahama announced plans to recruit 25,000 youths into security services to support a 24-hour economy in his first year if elected. He also outlined proposals for economic and social development, including establishing a women's development bank, constructing sports facilities, offering free tertiary education for Persons with Disabilities, and abolishing certain taxes.NDC Parliamentary Candidate Wisdom Osei Boamah appealed to the electorate to support his bid to become the second NDC parliamentarian for the area in this fourth republic. Meanwhile, Nana Owusu Appau, Abuakwa-Asenemasohene, urged voters to back Mahama, suggesting divine support for his leadership to address the nation's economic challenges.
