Mr. Mustapha Tassah, Akan New Patriotic Party (NPP) Parliamentary Candidate (PC), has submitted his nomination forms to the Electoral Commission (EC) to contest the Akan Seat as Member of Parliament (MP).Receiving the forms at the EC Premises at Kadjebi in the Oti Region, Mr. Daniel Ofosu, the Returning Officer for Akan Constituency, said his job was to check whether the forms were properly filled and after that accept it for onward transmission to the EC Headquarters via the Regional Office.He appealed to the candidate to ensure their campaigns were peaceful as the EC would also ensure the election was free and fair.Mr. Tassah in response, appropriated the cordial relations between him and the EC Office.In addressing the supporters later, Mr. Tassah, appealed to them to engage in house-to-house campaign for the Party to win the Akan Seat.He said Ghana needs peace, so during the campaigning they should be tolerant and comport themselves, even if they were provoked by their opponents.'People of Ak an needs change, so Gomado must go' for me to do the good works that the electorate of Akan deserve.The 48-year-old Legal Practitioner, said the resources in prosecuting the campaign is not an issue, so the Constituency Executives and Party supporters should visit every hamlet in the constituency and campaign for the NPP to break the eight.Mr. Tassah was accompanied to the EC premises by Mr. Awal Rabiu, Akan Constituency Chairman, NPP, Joseph Nana Oboako, the Constituency Organiser, NPP, Mr. Frank Bedi, Assistant Constituency Secretary, NPP, Mr. Frank Worlanyo Adjei, Akan NPP Communications Director, Ms. Abena Nyande, Women Organiser NPP Akan, Mrs. Kafui Kwadade-Cardigah, Akan NPP Constituency Treasurer, among other bigwigs of the Party.Mr. Mustapha Tassah, is a first timer having been elected on April 26, 2024, after the demise of Alhaji Rashid Bawa, the then Akan NPP PC.Source: Ghana News Agency
