According to Ghana News Agency, Mr. Agbana praised the NDC government and President John Dramani Mahama for rolling out impactful social intervention programs such as the 'No Fee Stress' initiative, which allows fresh tertiary students to attend school free of charge, including persons living with disabilities whose fees are now fully absorbed. In line with these national interventions, Mr. Agbana mentioned that his Edem Agbana Scholarship Programme has so far supported over 420 students in the Ketu North Municipality.
He noted that over GHS1.3 million has been invested into the programme, targeting students from underprivileged backgrounds, persons with disabilities, and girls in STEM fields who are receiving 100 per cent scholarships. The MP also highlighted key interventions in the health sector, including the donation of a new delivery bed, medical supplies, and signage to the Ative CHPS Compound and Tadzewu Clinic to improve maternal health services.
Additionally, over 500 constituents benefited from a free eye screening and surgery initiative. As part of efforts to support agriculture, an excavator has been supplied for the dredging of the Weta farm canals, while Water User Associations have received fertilizer support through the Ministry of Food and Agriculture. He also disclosed ongoing advocacy for the reengineering of the local dam and land development for irrigation. The MP revealed that he has engaged diplomatic missions such as the Chinese Embassy, Indian High Commission, and the European Union to explore agricultural investment and development opportunities in Ketu North, including feasibility studies for large-scale farming.
Under the 'Light Up Ketu North' initiative, over 545 streetlights have been installed in areas including the Dzodze-Penyi-Zukpe stretch, Dzodze-Kave Junction, Police Barrier to WOSSET, and Tadzewu-Ohawu-Afife.
