Penyi: Mr Eric Edem Agbana, the Member of Parliament (MP) for Ketu North, has conducted his third-quarter accountability series with constituents in Penyi, reporting on his activities and providing updates on both government and constituency projects.

According to Ghana News Agency, the event, which took place on October 19th, is part of Mr Agbana's Quarterly Accountability Series, a transparency initiative highlighted in the Ketu North Manifesto. Mr Agbana commenced the session by discussing national initiatives under the President's 24-Hour Economy policy, noting pilot implementations such as the round-the-clock services at the DVLA, Passport Office, and GIPC. Discussing environmental efforts, Mr Agbana mentioned the enforcement of a ban on illegal mining, recovery of forest reserves, and the launch of initiatives like Tree for Life. He also pointed out the Ghana cedi appreciation, marking a significant transition performance since 2007.

Locally, Mr Agbana highlighted numerous completed and ongoing projects. The Edem Agbana Scholarship Scheme, which supports over 420 tertiary students, was launched alongside donations of laptops and desktop computers to educational institutions. Further interventions included the completion of the DZOSEC infirmary, donation of school desks, and the establishment of an ICT lab and library.

He noted progress on the DZOSEC Clinic project and various health initiatives, including free eye screenings and improved water facilities. Additionally, Mr Agbana mentioned the establishment of the first-ever District EPA Office and the Green Ketu North Project.

Infrastructure developments were also discussed, with streetlights installed under the Light Up Ketu North Project and road construction initiated on key routes. The 'Edempower 500 Programme' aims to train 500 youths annually in technical and vocational skills, and employment opportunities have been facilitated across several institutions.

Rev. Martin Amenaki, the Municipal Chief Executive, praised Mr Agbana for his collaboration with the Assembly, which has attracted development projects to Ketu North. He detailed projects funded under the District Assembly Common Fund and acknowledged community support from the NGO 'Meaningful Life'.

Torgbui Dadzi V, Paramount Chief of the Penyi Traditional Area, commended the MP and the MCE for their dedication and accountability. He expressed confidence in Mr Agbana's ability to fulfill his promises and prayed for his continued strength and wisdom in serving the people.
