Dormabin: Tragedy struck at a filling station in Dormabin in the Krachi East Municipality of the Oti Region, when armed robbers opened fire, killing one person.According to Ghana News Agency, the victim, Isaac Dampoki, had visited the filling station to purchase fuel, when the robbers, armed with guns stormed the premises and shot him. The robbers are said to have made away with GHC9,000, after they had begun shooting sporadically, hitting the victim in the process.Mr. Israel Asiedu, a resident of Dormabin, told the GNA that the victim was rushed to CHPS compound for treatment due to the severity of the injuries. He said the victim was later referred to WoraWora Government Hospital, but sadly, succumbed to the injuries and was pronounced dead at Asukawkaw in the vehicle, while in transit to WoraWora Government Hospital.The Dambai Police command has beefed up security and launched an investigation into the matter. The incident has sent shockwaves through the Dormabin community with many calling for incre ased security measures to prevent such incidents in the future.
