Dar es salaam: Ambassador Chen Mingjian, alongside Tanzanian Minister for Natural Resources and Tourism Dr. Ashatu Kijaji, participated in the opening ceremony of the “Painting Exhibition Themed on Tanzania-Zambia Railway” held at the National Museum of Tanzania. The event was also attended by Permanent Secretary of the Tanzanian Ministry of Transport Prof. Godius Kahyarara, Zambian Deputy High Commissioner to Tanzania Mr. Anthony Bwalya, and over 300 attendees from various sectors.
According to African Press Organization, Ambassador Chen emphasized the historical significance of the TAZARA Railway, marking its 50th anniversary as a symbol of China-Africa friendship. She highlighted last week’s groundbreaking ceremony for the TAZARA Railway revitalization project in Lusaka, attended by Chinese Premier Li Qiang and leaders from Tanzania and Zambia. Ambassador Chen affirmed China’s commitment to collaborating with Tanzania and other African nations to uphold the TAZARA spirit and strengthen the China-Africa co
mmunity with a shared future.
Minister Kijaji acknowledged the deep connections forged by the Tanzania-Zambia Railway among the peoples of Tanzania, China, and Zambia. She expressed Tanzania’s gratitude for China’s solidarity and support, reinforcing the commitment to enhance the long-standing friendship and cooperation between the two countries.
The exhibition will remain open to the public in Tanzania until January 26, 2026.
