AKATSI SOUTH: A total of 32 eligible voters failed to show up for the recently concluded Special Voting Exercise in Akatsi South. Out of 305 registered Special Voters, only 273 individuals cast their ballots by the close of polls at 5 p.m. on Monday, December 2. This was confirmed by Mrs. Akorfa Buabasah Asamoah, the Akatsi South Municipal Electoral Officer, marking the successful end of the exercise.According to Ghana News Agency, the exercise provided an opportunity for election officials, security personnel, and media practitioners to vote ahead of the upcoming December elections. The votes cast during this special exercise will be counted alongside those from the general elections. The polling, held at the Akatsi Police Station, was observed to have taken place in a calm atmosphere from start to finish.Some voters interviewed by GNA expressed their satisfaction with the process and praised the Electoral Commission (EC) for conducting a smooth exercise without technical issues. Mr. Cosmos Atikpo, a loc al radio presenter who participated in the voting, remarked that the day's proceedings demonstrated the EC's preparedness for the main elections.Security experts, who chose to remain anonymous, assured the public of a peaceful electoral process ahead. By the close of polling at 1700 hours, no eligible voters were left in line to cast their votes.The forthcoming December 7 elections will enable all eligible voters to elect a President and 276 Members of Parliament across the country's constituencies.
