Mr. Kwame Agbodza, Member of Parliament for Adaklu, Saturday responded positively to a plea by Togbega Gbogbi Atsa V, Paramount Chief of Adaklu Traditional Area, to help complete the abandoned Adaklu Traditional Council building.The building which is at the lintel level was started years back but abandoned due to lack of funds.Mr. Agbodza who made his intention known at a brief ceremony at Adaklu Abuadi to mark the resumption of work on the building, emphasised the importance of the project to the people of Adaklu.He stated that the project was not only a physical structure but also a symbol of the unity and strength of the people of Adaklu State.The MP stated that the project when completed would change the efficiency of traditional governance and provide a dignified space for the administration of justice and the preservation of customs.He expressed his gratitude to the chiefs for their patience and reiterated his commitment to ensuring the timely completion of the building.'I want to assure you that the necessary resources have been allocated for the timely completion of the project,' he said.Togbega Gbogbi on behalf of the chiefs, expressed his gratitude to the MP for coming to their aid.He said the intervention of Mr. Agbodza came at a crucial time as they had been advocating for the resumption of the project for many years now.He noted that the abandonment of the project had not only affected the efficient operation of the council but also hindered the rich cultural heritage of the Adaklu Traditional Council.Togbega Gbogbi stated that the building when completed would serve as a symbol of the cultural heritage of the people of Adaklu.He intimated that it would also bring a renewed hope and confidence to the people, adding, 'the building will serve its intended purpose of proving a fitting venue for traditional ceremonies, meetings, and other important events.'He appealed to citizens of Adaklu, both at home and the diaspora, to join hands to develop Adaklu and move it to an enviable le vel.Source: Ghana News Agency
