Accra: The Ghana Statistical Service announced on Wednesday that the country's year-on-year inflation rate increased to 23.0% in November, up from 22.1% in October. This indicates that the overall price level in November 2024 was 23.0% higher compared to November 2023.According to Ghana News Agency, the Government Statistician, Professor Samuel Annim, highlighted during a press briefing that the Consumer Price Index for November 2024 stood at 243.9, compared to 198.2 in November 2023. He further detailed that food inflation rose to 25.9% in November from 22.8% in October, with month-on-month food inflation at 3.8%.Non-food inflation recorded a decrease, standing at 20.7% compared to 21.5% in October, with a month-on-month inflation rate of 1.4%. In terms of imported goods, inflation was 17.6%, while locally produced items saw a higher inflation rate of 25.4%.On a regional scale, the Upper East Region continued to record the highest inflation rate at 44.9%, whereas the Eastern Region had the lowest at 18 .3%.
