Obuasi East: Over 50 beneficiaries of the Youth Employment Agency (YEA) in the Obuasi East Municipality have received vital equipment to kick-start their entrepreneurial journey. Madam Faustina Amissah, the Obuasi East Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), handed over drilling machines, hair dryers, auto works kits, safety equipment, and makeup kits to empower the upcoming entrepreneurs.According to Ghana News Agency, the donation follows the completion of a six-month skill training programme in plumbing, vehicle servicing, beauty care, hairdressing, and woodworks for the beneficiaries. The MCE commended the beneficiaries for taking up the challenge to acquire skills in various fields. She stated that the intervention aimed to empower young entrepreneurs to set up their own businesses and contribute to the local economy.Madam Amissah encouraged the beneficiaries and their families to vote for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to ensure the sustainability of the programme. Mr. Mike Afoakwa, the Municipal Director o f YEA, mentioned that the beneficiaries would also receive TVET and NVTI certificates. He urged young people interested in learning a skill to apply when the portal opens, emphasizing that the programme offered equal opportunities for all.Ms. Priscilla Opoku, a beneficiary of the programme, expressed her gratitude to the YEA for the opportunity. She remarked, "I was jobless before but through the help of YEA skills training programme and these start-up kits which are the basic needs for my personal establishment I can say goodbye to unemployment."
