William: Royal Family’s Cancer Issues Like Rug Pulled From Under Feet

London: The Prince of Wales has candidly described the recent cancer experiences within the royal family as akin to having the 'rug' pulled from under their feet following decades of robust health. This revelation has come in light of the Princess of Wales and King Charles being diagnosed with cancer in early 2024, sparking significant concerns.

According to Ghana News Agency, Prince William shared these insights during an appearance on comic actor Eugene Levy's travel series, "The Reluctant Traveller." In a conversation with Levy, William reflected on the royal family's history of good health, noting, "We've been very lucky, we hadn't had many illnesses in the family for a very long time." He highlighted the longevity and well-being of his grandparents, the late Queen and Duke of Edinburgh, who lived into their high 90s, embodying fitness, stoicism, and resilience.

William acknowledged that this history perhaps led the family to believe they were immune to such health issues, stating, "You maybe think to yourself 'It won't happen to us, we'll be okay'. Because I think everyone has a positive outlook, you've got to be positive. But when it does happen to you, then it takes you into some pretty not great places."

In March 2024, Kate, the Princess of Wales, revealed through a video that she was undergoing treatment for cancer. Earlier, in February, it was announced that King Charles had also been diagnosed with the disease. However, Kate shared positive news in January by confirming she was in remission, expressing relief and determination to focus on her recovery. She remarked on social media, "It is a relief to now be in remission, and I remain focused on recovery."

King Charles continues to receive treatment for an undisclosed type of cancer but remains dedicated to his official duties both domestically and internationally.

During the episode from Levy's Apple TV+ series, William invited the actor to Windsor Castle for a unique experience, including a guided tour, a walk with the royal dog, and a chat over a pint at a local pub. The episode also featured a lighthearted moment with William arriving on an electric scooter, much to Levy's surprise, who admitted his low threshold for adventure. William responded, "It gets around quite nicely around here, it's quite fun."
