Voice of Widows Pray for Peaceful Elections.

TEMA: Voice of Widows Ghana, a faith-based group, has organised a national prayer meeting to intercede for peaceful and fair elections. The event, which took place in Tema, was on the theme, 'God Save Ghana and Let Peace Prevail' and saw hundreds of widows, clergy, and gospel ministers from various parts of Ghana participating.According to Ghana News Agency, participants raised fervent prayers for political stability, transparency, and national unity. The prayers were led by invited guest ministers, including Apostle Emily Acheampong, President of Emily Wulff-Cochrane Ministries; Apostle James Mensah, Head Pastor of Prevailing Chen Ministries; and Rev. Dr. Collen Opoku Amuabeng, founder and general overseer of Precious Seed Chapel International, among others.Bishop Samuel Addo, the general overseer of Crossover Chapel International, shared a word of exaltation while the participants engaged in worship, intercessory prayers, and a symbolic weave of the Ghana flag to signify peace ahead of the electoral pro cess.In an interview with Ghana News Agency (GNA), Rev. Dr. Collen Opoku Amuabeng highlighted the vital role of peace ahead of the elections, hence the call on widows to advocate for peace through prayers. She stated that the Voice of Widows Ghana had been in existence for five years and has about 50 branches, adding that widows coming together to pray would not only help the country but also help shape their lives for salvation purposes.She emphasised the importance of widows coming together in prayers for the nation ahead of the elections because, if any violence should prevail, women and children would become victims. Quoting scriptures, 'fervent prayer of the righteous availeth much,' she expressed hope that God would give Ghanaians the right leader.Rev. Dr. Amuabeng stated, 'Widows united in prayer are destined for greatness and easily answered by God.' She advised Ghanaians, especially the youth, to refrain from engaging in violent acts as they exercise their civic responsibility to vote, caution ing them against receiving money from political parties before casting votes but rather praying for a peaceful nation.The event served as a reminder for collective prayers to foster unity and peace ahead of the election process.
