Dormaa: Mr. William Owusu, a United States-based real estate investor, has been enstooled as the Ahantrasehene and Amankorahene (sub-chief) of the Dormaa Traditional Area in the Bono Region, adopting the stool name Baffour Owusu Sika Aduomi. Baffour Aduomi, who is 52 years old and popularly known as ‘Osika’, is also the General Secretary of the Council of Bono and Ahafo Associations of North America (COBAANA). This group consists of Bono and Ahafo citizens residing in North America and actively promotes the development of the Bono and Ahafo Regions.
According to Ghana News Agency, Baffour Aduomi pledges allegiance to Osagyefo Oseadeeyo Dr. Agyemang Badu II, the Paramount Chief of the Dormaa Traditional Area and the President of the Bono Regional House of Chiefs. In keeping with the traditions of Dormaa, the kingmakers conducted traditional rites to confirm Baffour Aduomi’s enstoolment at a vibrant ceremony held at the Dormaa Abanpreduase Palace, with Osagyefo Oseadeeyo Badu II in attendance.
Following the ceremony, Baffour Aduomi was celebrated by being carried shoulder-high and paraded through the principal streets of Dormaa-Ahenkro. In an interview, he emphasized his commitment to prioritizing the development of the traditional area. He highlighted his vast network both domestically and internationally, which he intends to leverage to attract investments and improve the lives of the people of Dormaa. Baffour Aduomi believes that facilitating accelerated development is a collective responsibility.
He expressed optimism that with the cooperation and support of the local community and chiefs, the development of the area would be elevated to new heights. He assured the people of Dormaa that he would serve them with humility and diligence. Baffour Aduomi also expressed his gratitude to Osagyefo Oseadeeyo Badu II, the kingmakers, sub-chiefs, and the entire Dormaa community for the honor bestowed upon him. He pledged his commitment to creating employment opportunities for the youth in the area.
