Western north: Some residents in the Western North Region have called on Ghanaians, especially political actors, to maintain the unity and cohesion shown from the mourning of the eight victims of the tragic helicopter crash.
According to Ghana News Agency, residents lauded the way the entire country has exhibited unity in this time of national grief.
"It is difficult to identify who belongs to party A or B during this period, and we must, as a country, continue to live in harmony with one another irrespective of your tribe, religion, or political affiliations," an elderly man expressed. This sentiment reflects the broader call for harmony beyond periods of mourning.
Others have urged the political class to carry this moment of reflection forward and to view themselves as one people, even during political campaign seasons. A local shop attendant in Asawinso shared an emotional response, saying, "I shed tears watching the children and widows read their tributes, and I am imagining how the immediate families will feel, so may they be comforted in these trying times."
Additionally, another resident appealed to the state to provide psychological support to the immediate families, wives, and children, while also suggesting the establishment of a dedicated fund to support the children's education.
