Sunyani: The University of Energy and Natural Resources (UENR) has graduated 2,608 students who pursued Diploma, undergraduate, and postgraduate courses for the 2023/2024 academic year. The graduates include 114 postgraduates, 2,309 undergraduates, and 185 Diploma students. During the ninth congregation of the university held in Sunyani, Professor Elvis Asare-Bediako, the Vice Chancellor of UENR, emphasized the institution's commitment to producing quality graduates for the job market.According to Ghana News Agency, Prof Asare-Bediako announced that the University had signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the National Service Authority to train national service personnel in agriculture. This initiative aims to enhance food security and reduce graduates' unemployment. He highlighted the need for 21st-century graduates to be adaptable, creative, and resilient due to the dynamic and evolving nature of the work environment.Mr. Eugene Odoi Addo, the Sunyani Area Manager of the Northern Electricity Di stribution Company (NEDCo), advised the graduates to prepare themselves for their career paths ahead. He emphasized the importance of a combination of skills, adaptability, and a proactive approach to personal and professional development. Mr. Addo encouraged graduates to engage in life-long learning through short courses, workshops, and online studies, and to seek mentorship from experienced professionals.He noted that advancements in technology could be leveraged to build global collaboration, as professionals need to be ready to work in diverse and multicultural teams across different time zones and cultural contexts. The ceremony also saw Mr. Bernard Asenso, a Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Natural Resources Management, receiving the Vice Chancellor's Award as the overall best student, along with other students who were recognized for their outstanding academic performances.
