Blinken released a statement commending Vice President-elect Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang, who has become Ghana's first female vice president-elect. The U.S. statement highlighted the effective roles played by the Electoral Commission, civil society, and security services in conducting a credible election.The U.S. also recognized the acceptance of election results by Vice President Mahamudu Bawumia, which was seen as a sign of political maturity.
