I read the story of Tyrone Iras Marhguy, in his own writing on Facebook and one thing struck me: the impeccability of his sense of gratitude. When the storm over his admission to Achimota School raged, I sided with the school because laid-down rules and regulations ought to prevail. But in hindsight, I've come to appreciate how well-organized this young man is, and how deep a thinker he really is. And I doff my hat for this bloke.Explicitly, the gravamen of the story, as he narrated, is all about mentioning one by one, all those whose support has helped him realize his dream. The sense of gratitude is pleasant in the Lord's eyes; the reason Jesus Christ inquired from the leper who returned to thank him, about the remaining 9.This guy's faith is Rastafarianism which most people frown upon, has demonstrated an unalloyed sense of gratitude, and that'll further open doors. He's currently at the University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia on a $1.4m scholarship, and his sense of gratitude will make him excel in his endeavors. Some of us, from personal resources and good hearts, have taken people from grass to self-sufficiency. But we got insults and scorn as a reward.Indeed, to have a dog as a companion is much more worthwhile than having an ungrateful person around you. But this shouldn't stop us from doing good. And like I keep saying: being kind is the discretion of the individual, time, place, and mood. However, being generous is ostensibly God-given.Source: Ghana Web
