Agradaa Files Bail Pending Appeal at High Court

Accra: Patricia Asiedua, also known as Agradaa, a serving convict and founder of Heaven Way Champion International Ministry, has filed for bail pending an appeal before the High Court. In the bail application, the lawyer for the applicant argued that the appeal has a strong chance of success due to alleged flaws in the trial and bias exhibited by the trial judge.

According to Ghana News Agency, the lawyer claimed that the trial judge did not consider mitigating factors presented during sentencing, despite referencing Ghana's Sentencing Guidelines. On July 3, 2025, an Accra Circuit Court sentenced Agradaa, also recognized as Evangelist Mama Pat, to 15 years in prison on charges of engaging in charlatanic advertisement and two counts of defrauding by false pretences.

The lawyer for Agradaa described the sentence as harsh and excessive. As a result, an appeal has been filed at the Amasaman High Court to challenge the lower court's conviction and sentence.
