Washington: US President Donald Trump has urged Israel to halt its bombing campaign against Iran, emphasizing the need to respect the recently established ceasefire. In a post on Truth Social, Trump stated, "DO NOT DROP THOSE BOMBS . BRING YOUR PILOTS HOME, NOW!" and highlighted the significance of adhering to the truce to prevent further escalation.
According to Ghana News Agency, Trump announced the ceasefire overnight, an agreement subsequently confirmed by both Iran and Israel. Despite this, tensions remain high as both nations accuse each other of violating the terms. On Tuesday, reports surfaced of Israel breaking the ceasefire on three occasions, targeting various locations within Iran. These allegations were supported by statements from the Iranian armed forces, as reported by Fars news agency.
On the other side, the Israeli military has claimed that Tehran initiated hostilities by launching at least one missile into northern Israel. This act of aggression prompted Israeli Defence Minister Israel Katz to promise robust retaliatory actions, further complicating the fragile situation. The international community watches closely as the situation develops, with hopes for a sustainable resolution to the ongoing conflict.
