Tragic Bus Crash in South Africa’s Limpopo Province Claims Over 40 Lives

Limpopo: At least 40 people lost their lives in a devastating bus accident in South Africa's northern Limpopo province, with many others suffering injuries, some critically, as reported by local authorities on Monday. The tragic incident occurred on Sunday evening, and rescue teams are continuing their efforts, anticipating that the death toll may rise.

According to Ghana News Agency, local government and road traffic officials revealed that the driver seemed to have lost control of the bus. The vehicle tragically veered off the road, crashed down an embankment, and overturned. Among those who perished in the crash was a 10-month-old baby, highlighting the heart-wrenching nature of the tragedy.

Officials stated that the passengers on the bus were from Malawi and Zimbabwe, and they were on their journey back home. In response to the calamity, South African President Cyril Ramaphosa extended his condolences to the governments of Malawi and Zimbabwe, as well as to the families of the deceased, underscoring the profound impact of the incident on the neighboring countries.
