Paramount Chief of Avenor Urges Youth to Lead Community Development Initiatives

Avenor: Togbe Dorglo Anumah VI, the Paramount Chief of Avenor Traditional Area and President of the Avenor Traditional Council, has urged the youth of Akeve Gui, Suipe, Bayive, Wenu, and neighboring communities to unite and drive efforts towards community development. He emphasized the importance of collaboration among all stakeholders to achieve peaceful and prosperous communities.

According to Ghana News Agency, Togbe Anumah made this call during a meeting focused on addressing developmental challenges such as inadequate roads, lack of potable water, limited access to electricity, and security concerns. He noted that government alone cannot address all these issues without external support and collaboration.

Togbe Anumah reassured the youth that his administration would advocate for government projects and policies to benefit the area, including the construction of school blocks, roads, and the provision of potable water. He revealed that the government, through the Municipal Assembly, has earmarked a 6-unit classroom block with a 12-seater toilet facility for Akeve-Gui basic school and urged community support during its construction. He also encouraged the youth to embark on self-help development projects.

During the meeting, the youth presented a report highlighting their challenges and calling for intervention, with youth unemployment being a major concern. They expressed hope that with leadership and collaboration from relevant stakeholders, practical and lasting solutions could be found.

The meeting also discussed key issues in the Avenor Traditional Area, including preparations for the upcoming '2025 Avenor Tutudoza' festival. The youth expressed their eagerness to contribute to the success of the festival.
