Togbi Tenge Dzokoto Gligui VII engages Bate Chiefs on community growth

Togbi Tenge Dzokoto Gligui VII, the 'Dufia' of Anyako-Konu and the Paramount Chief of Amugo-Vego Traditional Area in the Keta Municipality has held a meeting with chiefs from the 'Bate Clan' at Anloga Lashibi on development issues.The encounter, held at the 'Mama Bate shrine', was to strengthen unity, togetherness, and cohesion among the chiefs from Anloland.Togbi Tenge Dzokoto Gligui, who is also the Head of the Bate Clan, disclosed to the Ghana News Agency (GNA) that the engagement, which lasted for over two hours, was aimed at improving the better living conditions of Bate Clan chiefs, as well as the various community members.The traditional leaders present at the meeting further acknowledged the ban on drumming, funeral rites, and noisemaking from the Anlo Traditional Council towards this year's Hogbetsotso Festival to be held in the first week of November this year.It was also observed that people of Anloga and its surrounding communities experienced a 30-minute downpour immediately after the me eting, whilst others believed it could be a sign of God's blessing after months of dry weather in the area.This, according to some elders, signified the 'Bate' slogan which said, 'Anlo Bateawo, Let it rain.'Sources also disclosed to the GNA that on the installation of Togbi Tenge Dzokoto Gligui VII, three trees were planted, which represented the various Wings known as 'Woe', 'Adortri', and 'Lashibi' Clans.Others also believed that the 'Awomefia Stool' was on a rotational basis among the Adzovia and Bate Clans, whilst each played the role of the other until a substantive Chief was installed.It was also revealed that the head of the two Clans worked in the absence of the other for the upkeep and development of the Anloland till its present day.Source: Ghana News Agency
