Three Schools Compete in Constitution Quiz to Celebrate Independence Day in East Gonja

Salaga: Selected students from three Junior High Schools in the East Gonja Municipality of the Savannah Region participated in a quiz competition aimed at testing their knowledge of Ghana's 1992 Constitution. The event was part of the activities celebrating the country's 68th Independence Day.

According to Ghana News Agency, the students, who are members of the Civic Education Clubs from 31st December JHS, Timu Girls JHS, and Saint Peters JHS, answered questions on topics such as the political history of Ghana, the 1992 Constitution, democracy, fundamental human rights and freedoms, and current affairs. The quiz was organized by the East Gonja Municipal Directorate of the National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE). The initiative aims to promote the learning of the Constitution's contents in an engaging manner among students at the basic school level.

Mr. Iddrisu Latif, the East Gonja Municipal Director of NCCE, addressed participants during the competition held in Salaga. He encouraged students to join the Civic Education Clubs in their schools to enhance their understanding of the Constitution, which would aid in guiding their activities.

The quiz concluded with 31st December JHS emerging as the winners, followed by Timu Girls JHS in second place, and Saint Peters JHS in third. The schools received various prizes, including scientific wall clocks.
