Assembly Member Organizes Community Clean-Up and Health Screening in Akatsi South

Akatsi: Mr. Edward Doe Adade, the assembly member for the Tatorme Fiato Electoral Area in the Akatsi South Municipality, has organized a community clean-up exercise to promote good hygiene practices in his area. The initiative, aimed at ensuring a clean and healthy environment, witnessed the participation of officers from the Akatsi Police Command, Municipal Assembly staff, ECG staff, Environmental Health officials, decentralized departments, private sector entities, and residents of Akatsi.

According to Ghana News Agency, Mr. Adade stated that the initiative is intended to position the community on a path of growth by fostering an environment where people can pursue their daily activities with sound minds. He warned that individuals and businesses that do not comply with sanitation directives would face legal consequences.

The clean-up exercise, which lasted several hours, involved activities such as clearing bushes, distilling choked gutters, and removing stagnant waste materials. In addition, residents were offered free National Health Insurance registration and card issuance, along with free medical screening and medication.

Mr. Adade expressed gratitude to all stakeholders involved and advocated for regular clean-up exercises across all Electoral Areas in the Municipality to promote healthier living. Residents and fellow Assembly Members applauded the organizers for their efforts and called for ongoing support to maintain the momentum of the initiative.
