Tamale Technical University Hosts Seventh Congregation and Investiture for New Vice-Chancellor.

TAMALE: The seventh congregation and investiture of the second Vice-Chancellor of the Tamale Technical University (TTU) took place at the University's campus in Tamale. During the ceremony, a total of 2,113 students graduated with various degrees, and Professor Bashiru Ibn Imoro Saeed was sworn in to formally assume his duties as the new Vice-Chancellor.According to Ghana News Agency, the graduation ceremony saw 111 students obtaining master's degrees, 471 receiving first degrees, 162 completing Competency-Based Training (CBT), 403 earning Diplomas, 81 acquiring Diploma in CBT, and 460 being awarded certificates. Several graduates who excelled were honored with awards, including Mr. Abdulai Imoro, who received the Best Engineering Student and Overall Best Undergraduate Student Award. Mr. Abdulai Bashiru was awarded the Best Graduate Student Award, while Miss Beatrice Gaala received the Best Female Graduating Student accolade. Mr. Braimah Haruna Stephen was recognized as the Best Graduating Diploma Student. These awardees were presented with cash prizes and citations.Dr. Alhassan Emil Abdulai, Chair of the Governing Council of TTU, addressed the gathering, emphasizing the University's commitment to equipping young people with the necessary skills, knowledge, and innovative competencies to tackle the challenges of a rapidly evolving world. He highlighted that the appointment of Professor Bashiru was the result of a meticulous process aimed at finding a leader who exemplified the values and strategic vision needed to guide the University forward. Dr. Abdulai expressed confidence in Professor Bashiru's leadership, stating that it would inspire students, staff, and faculty, propelling the University towards greater academic achievements and impactful research.Professor Saeed, in his acceptance speech, outlined his focus on the University's infrastructure development. He stated, "One of the areas of my strategy will be the expansion and modernization of our infrastructure as we know that a robust, and forward-loo king infrastructure is a sine qua non for our ability to support academic excellence and innovative research."Alhaji Shani Alhassan Saibu, the Northern Regional Minister, through a speech read on his behalf, congratulated both the new Vice-Chancellor and the graduating students. He urged them to use their acquired skills and knowledge to positively impact society and their families. He also acknowledged the infrastructural challenges faced by the University, assuring that efforts would be made to provide the necessary facilities to enhance quality teaching and learning.
