Keta: Two hundred and eleven (211) out of 233 registered special voters in the Keta constituency of the Volta Region participated in the special voting held at the forecourt of Keta Municipal Assembly. This turnout represents a 93 percent participation rate in the exercise conducted on Monday.According to Ghana News Agency, Mr. Roger Avorgbedor, the Presiding Officer at Keta, stated that 22 registered special voters were unable to partake in the exercise. He noted that the voter turnout included 140 males and 71 females. Mr. Avorgbedor mentioned that the exercise proceeded smoothly without any challenges or obstacles that could have disrupted the voting process.Mr. Emmanuel Tey, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Keta Constituency Secretary and an agent during the voting, expressed satisfaction with the proceedings and expressed gratitude to the voters for fulfilling their civic responsibilities. He anticipated a similar atmosphere during the general voting on Saturday, December 7, and expressed confi dence that Ghanaians would vote for John Dramani Mahama as the next president.Mr. Godson Wotordzor, the Keta New Patriotic Party (NPP) youth organiser, commended the Electoral Commission for conducting a smooth and successful special voting exercise. He emphasized the need for continuity in development and expressed that the NPP was the party capable of implementing projects to improve the lives of Ghanaians.Other political party agents, including representatives from the Liberal Party of Ghana (LPG), expressed satisfaction with the exercise and encouraged support for their respective parties to achieve victory. Voters who participated in the special voting exercise also shared their satisfaction and hoped for a conducive environment during the general elections.
