Agona West: Some 229 registered voters are participating in a special voting exercise in the Agona West Constituency of the Central Region. This exercise is designed for security personnel, Electoral Commission (EC) officials, health professionals, and media practitioners who will be on official duty on December 7, the scheduled date for Election 2024.According to Ghana News Agency, the special voting is taking place at a designated centre located at the Agona Swedru Divisional Police Command. Mr. Ruben Alabi, the Presiding Officer of the centre, stated in an interview that the voting process has been smooth so far. Polling agents from the two main political parties, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and the National Democratic Congress (NDC), along with the Independent Candidate Mrs. Cynthia Morrison, were present to observe the proceedings.In the neighboring Gomoa Central Constituency, 545 registered voters are also expected to cast their ballots at the polling centre situated at the Gomoa Central District Assembly premises. Mr. Louise Mensah, the Presiding Officer there, assured the media that voting commenced as scheduled and has been progressing peacefully.
